Content

Theoretical lessons: overview of different cameras, lenses, lighting, technical settings, limited image retouching, saving and sharing images, smartphone photography.

During practical lessons, the students take photographs and exercise with form, composition, lighting, style and technical approach.

There are weekly classes.

Breakdown as follows:

1 week theory (overview of different cameras, lenses, lighting, technical settings, limited image retouching, saving and sharing images, smartphone photography)

Followed by 1 week of practice: Students receive a theme at the start of the session and have 1 hour to complete the photo assignment. After 1.15 pm the images have to be uploaded in Canvas and we discuss them according to form, composition, lighting, style and technical approach. Education and assessment will be organised as described on these ECTS sheets, except when measures must be taken due to a pandemic, and other education and assessment methods are used accordingly.

Assessment (text)

Evaluation: on campus or online.

Evaluation will take place by submitting individual assignments on a range of themes.

Photos are delivered digitally and in print form as an end semester assignment.

Students can earn bonus points by completing the interim assignments and submitting them digitally on time.
