Content

The objective of the OLOD is to get a picture of French-speaking Belgium, always linked to the topicality and context of the communication professional.
A link is also made with other French-speaking countries and regions (particularly France).
Emphasis is also placed on the differences and similarities between the regions in Belgium and their impact on communication.

This can be done during lessons (or via assignments) thanks to the analysis of authentic documents: articles from French-language newspapers and magazines, video fragments, images (cartoons).
Various topics are addressed or deepened:
- The political structure of Belgium
- the French language in Belgium
- relations between Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels
- the view of France, its influences on culture, literature, art, TV, film...
- the spill-in and its impact on communication, advertising, press...
- humour
- the written press zone South
- Radio and TV zone South

Assessment (text)

During the lessons the students have to make practical assignments (reading or summarizing a text, conversation around a theme, presentations).

The language of instruction is French and the level of the students is taken into account. Content is decisive.

Assignments made by the students at home are submitted on time and are part of the ongoing evaluation.

At the end of the semester, papers are submitted, the content of which reflects the themes dealt with.
